Whats a girl to do...

Adorable hubby at church with the scouts....my perfect baby is sleeping....and there is a list of things this wife and mom should be doing. "SHOULD" being the the word that I have not mastered....there is laundry, toilets to be scrubbed, emails to be responded to, packing for our weekend road trip, and there is the garden that resembles a weed patch more than a garden...my hubby has to point out what is edible and what is a weed :) BUT alas I am not doing any of these things...What is occupying my time tonight is blog stalking....I am so impressed by the women I have surrounded my self with...What great examples they are to me....Just one pet peeve has been discovered through my stalking....Women who deliver babies while looking like they are on break from there Vogue photo shoot...REALLY GIRLS!! I look back on my pics of Ruby's big day and I wonder if anyone will notice that I look like I have been hitting the bottle for years while running 40 miles through the desert up hills both ways! My goal if I ever attempt child birth ever again is to be the Vogue model on a break. I am willing to take tips, suggestions on how to achieve such a feat. I have even considered tattooing the make up on so it is not running down my face as seen in some scary 1950 horror flick...Good times...this is what happens when a girl has to much time on her hands....Keep up the good work girls...although the bar appears to be set to high...there is always hope!

Cherry Festival

I love this pic!! Does anyone know how hard it is to get both my husband and baby to both look at the camera and to smile on top of that!!

My parents were great sports and came to the festival with us. Ruby loves them so much! I am 100% positive I know who she will run to when she wants something when she is older...it is the two saps sitting below that love and adore her so.....

Please notice the similar looks between baby and papa....there is no doubt she has "GREEN" in her!

Every year there is a Cherry Festival in a neighboring town. Last year we took the older girls and they loved it!! They had a blast. I on th eother hand was miserable from the heat, smell, and oh yeah being prego :) This year sadly the older girls missed out, hopefully they will be here next year. But we did get to introduce Ruby to the Festival. For the most part she loved it but was not a big fan of the loud noises. She did on the other hand loved my funnel cake :)

A diva is born...

Everyone tells me that the fun part of having a girl is playing dress up...and I must agree! I cam home for a quick lunch break from work and got lost in playing dress up I ended up taking about 35 min longer than allowed...opps! I think it was work it!

Splish Splash...Who is really taking the bath??

Well this baby of mine is going to be a water baby I think...She loves loves LOVES her bath time. The routine starts with her sitting on my lap as I fill her bath tub. She is patient...surprisingly enough. We then undress her in her room. She then starts to flail her arms when I pick up nu-do and walk her into the bathroom. As soon as we enter the bathroom she literally is trying to fly out of my arms. At this point I can handle the 20 lb of wiggles but I am concerned if this behavior continues :) All that needs to touch the water is one toe and we have lift off. She becomes a kicking star. She is too long for the tub now but I am not ready to say that my baby is growing up and can use the regular tub now...I know I am crazy but as all new mothers I feel like I have earned this right to be a little crazy...ANYWAYS....I then proceed to wash her hair and body. No sooner have I reached for the soap than I realize that crazy amount of kicking has caused me to be completely soaked...But how can I tell her NO when she is giggling and having the time of her life. My parents council me that this will bight me in the bum later in life this thought that I can't tell her NO because she is being cute...Oh well, for now I will enjoy this stage.

PS...I have to have 2 wash cloths available now...one for me to use and one for her to eat...when does the stage end when they put everything in there mouth???

Ruby's Room...

I know this is a long time coming but I wanted to show off Ruby's Nursery. She absolutely loves her room. She really kind of refuses to sleep anywhere else. Grandma Green calls Ruby "her 5 min wonder" because she rarely sleeps longer than that if she is not in her room. The room would not look as awesome as it does with out the help of Grandma Green and Uncle Big Al...they painted basically my entire house when I was about 8 months pregnant and was so sick....Thank you to you both! Ruby and I love the paint jobs!!

Ruby has already shown and interest in her books....meaning I will read them to her and she will giggle at me and occasionally attempt a snack by eating the corner of the page :)

Girls just wanna have fun :)

We recently had Emalee and Lily come stay for some time. Lily is a great little singer and loves to sing to Ruby. It melted my heart when I caught her singing to her. She was a good sport and sang it to her again so I could catch it on tape. Shortly after the girls went home our little Lily Bug, who incidentally informed me that she in not LILY BUG she is LILY FLOWER....heaven help us....anyways after returning home Lily FLOWER fell on the trampoline and broke her foot in 2 places. Any of you keeping track this is the second time in 10 months that she has broken something while on the trampoline in Utah. She had surgery 2 days later and has a cast going mid way up her thigh. Poor thing informed her daddy and I on the phone that she has to hop everywhere. She said is so sweetly that we let out some giggles. She asked if we were laughing at her and then without waiting for our response she then informed us that she "don't like people laughing me!" I am kind of bummed that the swimming season will be skipped for her this year...Hopefully she will stay off the trampoline for a few...well actually stay off it period!!

This one is for you Bonnie...

This is for Aunt Bonnie who decided to leave us this summer to have an adventure in the Swiss Alps. We have been missing you! Hurry home to us!! Ruby rolled over a few times when she was about 6 weeks old. But after that she was against it....I tried everything....but this little one has a little stubborn streak. Everything is in her time. Well she finally decided that it would be a good idea and now she everywhere rolling around. This is in the beginning of the rolling phase. S is very distracted by the camera and stops all movement and giggling so I have to be a little sneaky about it.
