Christmas time with the family....

It has been a year of so many changes for the Colby Clan :) Clint and I were married this year. We bought a house. I started a new job. And finally we welcomed the newest addition to our family...our little Ruby Jane!! Some days I feel like my head is still spinning!! Christmas time in our home was full of laughs and excitement. We spent our first Christmas as a family in our first home together. We later went over to Grandma and Grandpa Green's house for more present time...I am not sure what to bribe or threaten the girls with now Santa is gone for another 365 days. This motherhood is a tricky business, still trying to figure it out! We are excited to spend some time next week with Clint's family next week and show off Ruby!! We miss them and are sad they are so far away!! I know I say this on every post but Clint and I are truly grateful for all the love and support our family and friends have showered on us this year! We feel so lucky and blessed as the year is coming to an end...hopefully 2010 slows down A LOT!!

More of Ruby's big day....

My poor husband works nights and went a few days with minimal sleep...He was a trooper and never left my side...I would have never survived those 24 hours without him by my side! I love you Clint with all my heart!! I am so excited about our family and all the places we are headed together!!

My little angel was a little smaller than thought...None of her clothes fit her...but lets face it she still makes it look good!!

My angel came out smiling!!

Not my shining moment in this world...lets say I did not handle the delivery with much grace...and but somehow I don't care :) I make no apologies for screaming at the doctor...a failed epidural will do that to a girl!!

Baby Ruby is coming to town....

Well Ruby made her big entrance on 12/8/09 at 6:52 am. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces. After a long and difficult pregnancy the labor and delivery was no different...BUT the silver lining in the story is that she is perfect...I will post more later...but baby needs to eat now...Clint and I are so grateful for all your love and support. We feel truly blessed to have so many people surrounding us that love us and support us!!

Baby shower time!!

My beautiful sisters through me the most perfect baby shower to celebrate Ruby's arrival! I am truly blessed to have such amazing women surrounding me to help support me on this new adventure of motherhood. Bonnie has supplied Ruby with her wardrobe for her first year of life. Chony took the time to perfect my favorite cupcake! They were amazing and Baby Ruby loved them!! Nicole made the most amazing diaper cake and started Ruby on her collegiate path. I am truly grateful for all there hard work and willingness to go above and beyond for me and Baby Ruby!
So pregnancy has not been an easy road for me. In and out of the hospital for fluids and vitamins. We recently had a little scare that Ruby might not be growing right. But our prayers were answered when we had an ultra sound that confirmed our hopes...She is perfect and growing perfectly! The doctor says that she is 5lbs. 6oz. It makes all the throwing up, hospital trips, and worrying seem somehow manageable when we found out that our Ruby is ok!!
Our little family has had so many changes in the past few months...I am not sure if I am having a hard time to catch my breath from all the change or my baby is squeezing my lungs...it is up for debate :) Clint and I recently bought our first house together! It has been so much work but is turning into an awesome first home for us!! The girls have so much room to run and play! A special thanks to my family...with me being so sick I have been kind of lame and out of commission...my mom and brother, Andrew, basically painted my house!! I would be lost without my family!!

Dave's wedding!!

I can't believe my kid brother is married!! Dave was my saving grace when I lived in Utah. After I moved away I really missed our close friendship. He made living in Utah bearable. But apparently we both had to grow up and take the next step of being coming a grown up. We both took the plunge this year. I was married 6 months ago and my kid brother followed suit on August 21st, 2009. He was married in the San Antonio temple. I am so excited for him!! His beautiful bride is an awesome addition to the family!! My girls already love her as well!! I feel so blessed to have our family growing by leaps and bounds!! I love you bro!! Good luck with the next step in life!!

Ruby Ruby Ruby!!

Clint and I have been married about 6 months...life seems to not have slowed down since the moment I screamed "I DO" with excitement and love in my heart for him. Since that moment life as not slowed down or is there any chance it will in the near future. Soon after coming home from our honeymoon we found out that we were expecting our first baby but 3rd in line behind 2 older awesome beautiful sisters. Pregnancy has been nothing I considered. 1st trimester seemed to be a breeze. Besides extreme exhaustion and dizziness with the occasional bout of puking life was great! Second trimester has been more difficult for baby and me...I have had bleeding, cramping, extreme acid reflux problems causing eating a chore not something to be excited about. The silver lining is that we found out that we were expecting our 3rd princess!! We decided to name our angel Ruby Jane!! Yesterday was a rough day...I will give you the cliff notes version...I ended up having to go into the hospital for cramping and bleeding. Everything turned out ok...I was ordered to stop my high pace overtime working life and put my feet up. Apparently when you are dehydrated it can induce contractions. Needless to say baby is ok and that is all that matters to me and Clint. I am so blessed to have great family that have been waiting on me and loving me through what seems like an impossible situation. And to my husband, I love you so much!! I am so grateful for all that you do for Ruby and I! We are truely lucky to have you!! For now Ruby will just keep kicking her mommy...which she secretly loves because it means she is happy and healthy!!

A princess turns 5!!

Our beautiful princess turns 5!! We had to throw her a princess party for sure. She was so excited when she came downstairs from her nap to a pink decorated castle compliments to her aunt Bonnie for helping with decorations. The cake was my first attempt so hopefully it passes the bar. Emalee loved it! She was thrilled with her hot pink Barbie cake!! Just don't look to close for the imperfections. She opened all her gifts. One of them was a sleeping beauty wand and a bicycle helmet. Em was a little confused and not excited about the helmet seeing the little princess does not have a bicycle. We encouraged her to close her eyes and wish that she had a bicycle. She did and started chanting as she waved the wand...so cute by the way. Daddy or a fairy god mother which other one you believe in magically brought a bike into the room without her knowing. When she opened her an immediate moment of joy and excitement!! She started screaming it works it works!! Little sister started freaking out screaming "mine, MINE, MINE!!"...I chalk it up to being 2 :) Emalee looks at her and calmly says "I will use my wand and you can have one too!!" OPSS!! First lesson in parenting 101 is I guess don't tell your child they have a magic wand and can have whatever they wish for...Lessons learned the hard way I guess...Since the birthday party Emalee has been caught sitting on the couch waving her wand making wishes. Happy Birthday Emalee!! Daddy and I love you so much....don't grow up to fast!! Keep wishing, dreams do come true!

CIRCUS CIRCUS CIRCUS!!!

We had so much fun at the circus! Grandma, Papa, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Big Al came with our little family to enjoy the fun and dazzle of the circus...sadly there were no elephants...what's up with that?

Some might call us delinquent parents for endorsing tattooing :) Lily took it really well! Emalee had a little tattooing remorse and did not enjoy the experience as much as you can see.

The next night we went to the Emment Cherry festival. Sadly I forgot my camera but the girls had a blast! We are having so much fun spending time with family this summer!! It is turning into the perfect summer!!

Summer Diva's!!

This summer has barely started and it seems to be flying by already...My little summer diva's have made the summer extra special and fun!! We have had the girls for more time which is let us do some fun activities! Both girls are a little dramatic when it comes to swimming in the big pool. They had every flotation known to man so drowning was not an option but alas they still did not believe us. Grandma came to the rescue and bought a kiddie pool. The girls absolutely loved the kid size of grandma's pool. Speaking of grandma...there is no stopping her spoiling them...she took them to Chucky Cheese. It was such a blast...I am actually not sure who had a better time the kids or adults. It was the kids vs. the adults to fight for the tokens...Any time I tell the girls its bed time or the dreaded "NO" word to the girls they both start in asking for there grandma green...They definitely love her and papa. My hat goes off to you mom's out there that have more than one child. Being prego and chasing 2 around does me in every night...my bed time follows soon after there. Our newest addition is making there debut in December. Both Mom and Baby are doing so well...we have been lucky to not be to sick. We find out the beginning of August if we are having a Jaxon or a Ruby :) We are so excited!!

Spring fever!!

Well the Colby Family officially has spring fever!! We, and when I say "we" I am really meaning my beloved hubby, is dying for some warm weather!! There is so many changes in our little family already. We have once again decided to change our mind and stay in Boise. Clint is planning on attending BSU this fall. He is planning that this will be his last summer of freedom...and lets face it for the next 7 years lets count on that assumption of his freedom dwindling to be accurate! We have the girls half the summer so we have lots of fun activities planned. Plus the summer has tons activities on the agenda that I am so excited about for example my little brother's wedding, a weekend trip to Seattle to play with some friends, and hopefully an OSSO reunion if I can work my magic!! There will more posts to come in the very near future about some other exciting news that the Colby family is so excited to share!!

HAPPY EASTER from the COLBY clan...

HAPPY EASTER!! This was our first Easter as a family and we had a blast! I of course spoiled the girls but I couldn't help myself. We went to Clint's family house for the holiday. The town does an Easter egg hunt. The girls scored major lute!! Then it was a day full of dying eggs with cousins. The girls had an awesome time. We also decided that moving is not a very good decision right now with the economy doing poorly. So we are sticking with Boise and BSU this fall. We are looking to buy a house this summer and get ready for anything that comes our way!

Joys of marriage....heheheee...

There are a few things that maybe I wasn't ready for as a newly married woman...one thing is for sure is that we laugh a lot!! Make sure your volume is way up...and don't be sad if you wet your self laughing...I still tear up when I watch my beloved husband trim his nose hairs...

Life after I do....

So life after I do...what can I say...it's been a constant ride! We went to the beautiful island of Coronado Island off of San Deigo! We had an AWESOME time!! The only glitch was the temperature...I was under the impression that it would be tropical and warm...yeah, I was wrong...It was so cold! But we made the best of it and had the best time...We had such a good time that we made some life changing decisions...oh I bet you are so excited to know...you are all sitting on the edge of your chair wondering what the changes could possibly be!! WELL...we are moving back to Utah. I know, I know...those who followed my previous blog realize how long it took me to get out of Utah and now I am returning of my free will...go figure! This move is really what is best for our family. We will be able to spend more time our girls!! We just had the girls for an entire week...we had a blast!! We had a great time at the zoo...and grandma had fun with them at Build a Bear Workshop.... Clint is starting the long road to get his law degree!! The next 7 years are going to be hard but I am thinking they are going to fly by!! Now raise your had if you thought the big announcement was me announcing that I was prego...lol...not this week :)
